Standalone app / DMG (coming soon)

A native macOS app built with Tauri is planned for a future release. This page will contain the download and install instructions when it ships.

What to expect

The standalone app will:

• Bundle its own Python runtime — no separate Python install required.
• Ship as a .dmg drag-to-Applications install.
• Appear as a menu bar app with a click-to-open web UI.
• Run the bridge and web server as background processes managed by the app lifecycle.
• Support the same plugin ecosystem as the pipx/Homebrew paths.

Current status

The app is tracked in the roadmap. Until it ships, use one of the terminal-based install methods:

• pipx (recommended)
• Homebrew
• uv

Releases page

When the standalone build is available, it will appear on the GitHub Releases page as a .dmg file.

To get notified, watch the repository or check the releases page periodically.

For beta testers

If you're interested in testing the standalone app before it's publicly available, open an issue with your hardware and macOS version. Beta builds may be distributed via TestFlight or direct DMG links to interested testers.
